Once all the treatment is finishes you want to get back to living your life again and part of that is having a sex life. Unfortunately some of the effects of having cancer and its treatment can impact on your sexual function. At Sexual Problems Glasgow I can provide counselling to help get your sex life back.

Common effects of cancer treatment

  • Fatigue or tiredness
  • Nausea
  • Low mood
  • Pain
  • Bladder and bowel symptoms
  • Breathing problems
  • Operations causing a change in physical appearance
  • A Change in sex hormones (premature menopause, testosterone blockers, oestrogen blockers)

Common Sexual Problems after Cancer

  • Loss of libido
  • Erectile dysfunction
  • Retrograde ejaculation
  • Pain during sex
  • Body image changes (scars, hair loss, weight change, and stoma)
  • A change in dynamics within your relationship.
